Are you facing too much form abandonment in WordPress?
Visitors start to fill out the form, but after a while, they will quit the page for some reason. This is a common problem every website faces. It may be a distraction, slow speed issue, or something else that will make them leave the screen.
Such form abandonments will negatively affect your sales and revenue. So you should find alternative solutions to reduce abandonments and increase form conversions.
These are the basic steps you should take to let readers spend more time on your pages.
1. Fast and responsive theme
Find and install a light-weight WordPress theme on your website. It should be clean and mobile-friendly. So your content will load faster on both desktop and mobiles. It will help you to reduce the bounce rate and boost conversions.
2. Avoid unnecessary pop-ups
Show pop-up windows only when they are necessary. Otherwise, it will disturb readers in between visiting pages and force them to quit.
3. Limit ads
Advertisements may be one of the main options to make money. I know. But never allow them to create distractions and limit their number to a maximum of 3 per page.
Once you configured the website and pages positively to improve user experience, go to the next step.

Creating Multi-Step Forms in WordPress
Sign in to your WordPress website and visit Formidable Forms from the left pane of the screen.
Click on Forms and choose a template from the list. Drag fields from the left sidebar to the main screen to add them to your form.
Scroll down to locate Page Break among advanced fields. Drag it to the desired part of your form where you want to insert a page break.
Multi-Step forms enable visitors to leave after filling out the details on the first page and come back again later to submit the remaining data. Formidable Forms allows you to assign different names for two parts (eg. Basic info, Educational qualification, Job experience, credentials, etc). We usually see these kinds of forms in job application sites.
A progress bar is another advantage of Formidable forms’ Multi-step forms. It will educate visitors about the percentage of the form they have completed and on which page they are in.
Go to form settings to customize your progress bar.
Choose a progress bar or a rootline from the pagination field. Enter titles for multi-pages as next. I entered ‘Basic Info’ and ‘Your Message’ as their headings.
Open your form preview in a new tab to see how it appears in the front-end.
The multi-step form is divided into two sections with pagination. Users can quickly switch in between pages by clicking on the progress bar.
Do you want to customize the progress bar to match your theme style?
Visit Formidable > Styles and scroll down to the bottom to find Progress bar settings.
Change color, border size, and others. Update changes.
Collect the shortcode and publish your multi-page form.
