Do you have a membership website? Do you want to allow members to generate PDF invoices for every transaction they made?
If you are running an online business, then you should be familiar with the laws like GDPR that came into force recently. Discussions are underway in different countries about implementing similar rules to ensure transparency in processing user data. These laws require that you clearly state what information you collect from customers and seek their consent beforehand.
Pdf invoices are not covered by these rules at the moment, but they can help in establishing trust in transactions and nurturing your business. Today, we’ll tell you how to automatically generate PDF invoices with MemberPress in WordPress.

Creating PDF Invoices with MemberPress
Let us check how to install PDF Invoice add-on on your membership website and let members generate PDF invoices automatically.
Step 1: Sign into WordPress and visit MemberPress from the left pane. Go to Add-ons and install the PDF Invoice add-on.
Head to settings and visit the ‘Info’ tab.
Now it will show options to create and manage your PDF invoices.
Step 2: It’s time to customize your invoice.
Choose a template first. MemberPress has two invoice templates -simple and modern. Pick a template that you like.
Enter your business phone number and email as next. Upload a logo in JPG, PNG, or GIF format to show it on the top of your invoice. Make sure that it’s at least 400 px wide to avoid formatting issues.
Scroll down to see text editors where you can customize formats of your business and customer addresses. They will contain some predefined commands to manage those sections on your PDF invoices. But you can remove them and insert new commands if needed. Enter your message in the Notes box which can be seen by subscribers immediately after making the payment.
Footnotes section is also available where you can add any text for the invoice’s footer. If you want to change the background color of the invoice number, use the color picker, and select a color.
Click on ‘Update options’ to save.
Step 3: Now your clients can download PDF invoices from their account page. Visit the Payments tab, then Download to view and save an invoice to a local drive. They will also get the invoice with the payment confirmation emails.
MemberPress >Transactions is another place where you can find and download PDF invoices for all your completed transactions.
